Tonight, I had the priviledge of supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs at the ‘Charity Quiz & Games Night’, organised by students from Kathering Warrington School, in Harpenden, as part of the ‘Dragon’s Apprentice Challenge’ initiative.

Their mission? Turn £100 into £1000 for a local charity - Communities 1st - and they absolutely smashed it, raising over £600 on the raffle alone!

As their business mentor, it’s been incredible watching them develop business skills, take ownership and make a real impact. And the bonus… I won £10 on the bingo and a lovely raffle prize too (which my wife Kath quickly claimed as hers!).

Initiatives like this are superb for nurturing skills that will stand them in good stead whatever they go on to do in life. I only wish opportunities like this had been around when I was at school!

This is why business owners need to get involved in community initiatives.

Whether it’s mentoring young entrepreneurs, supporting local charities, or giving back in small ways - our experience can help shape the next generation and future leaders too.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, take this as your sign to do it. It’s worth every moment.
